I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Andela (Port Harcourt) in May 2019
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. Everything was done online, so the location was not a problem. I was given an online coding test. Three questions on data structures, algorithms, and discrete math. After that, a values' interview with HR. The next steps were meant to be two different online pair programming with senior software devs, but the HR interview was my last stop because I had no industry experience.
The process involved a personality test, a timed coding assessment in a language of your preference with about three questions, and a face-to-face interview with the recruiter.
I then had a technical interview.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Andela in May 2025
Interview
I was reached out to by a recruiter. The whole process had 2 stages. The first one was an online test with single or multiple choice questions (these are often extremely ambiguous) and a tech task. Then you have a tech interview. The questions themselves were quite easy but there is another live coding challenge where you can't use an IDE or debugger. Failed live coding got an automated rejection email just in a few minutes. Do not recommend.

Question 1
What have you done at your current and previous projects. Have you designed a DB from scratch etc.
My interview with Andela was a great experience. The interviewers were professional and friendly, which made me feel comfortable throughout the process. They asked thoughtful questions that tested both my technical and problem-solving skills. I appreciated the structure of the interview—it was well-organized and gave me an opportunity to showcase my strengths. It also gave me a good sense of the company's culture and what they value in a candidate. Overall, it was both challenging and encouraging, and I left the interview feeling confident and motivated.
