Literally the worst tech interview I've ever done in my career in development. I legit went out of the meeting feeling bad
This was an interview to "join" Andela network or whatever the heck is that
First of all it was very hard to understand the interviewer, and on top of that he was also very rude and showed ZERO interest in the interview.
The interview itself was stupid. I couldn't use google so it was more of a syntax memory test than anything else
The questions were also very stupid. I was required to do a function that would transform a string into a camel cased string, create a function that would transform a camel cased string into a normal string and create another function to remove duplicates from an array and order it ascending.
The thing is that those "challenges" can be solved in 5 seconds googling, so what exactly are we testing here?
Anyways, I forgot how was javascript's regex syntax and the sort syntax as well so it took me some time to go through the challenges and I guess that makes me a bad developer.
The interviewer literally asked me in a mocking way one time "so how long since you last coded in a professional environment?"
After me taking some time to solve the challenges, the interviewer decided that my knowledge was not enough and OUT OF NOWHERE in the middle of the interview he goes "well thank you for your time" wanting to end the call. I call him out on that and I guess he realizes how much of a jerk he is behaving and he AT LEAST had the decency of offering to show how to solve those tasks, but if I went with the flow he would just finish the call then and there. He didn't even had the character of staying the whole booked time and walk through the whole interview
I had ZERO fun during the interview, I was literally insulted, not a single drop of professionalism from the interviewer part and no respect at all towards me from him
