Sr. Service Desk System Administrator Interview

      Nov 12, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Boston, MA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Anduril (Boston, MA) in Nov 2025

      Interview

Okay so my experience with Anduril is two fold so bare with me a bit. Over the summer I applied for a Sr. IT Manager role, I went through all the interviews and overall had a pleasant experience. Where it hit the skids is they let me know they would come to a decision in a few days then let me know from there. A few days turned into the better part of 2 weeks and the follow up email I had sent them during that time was never responded to. The polite thing to do would have been a quick reply saying decisions were taking a little longer than planned, sorry for the delay, but that never happened. In the end I was not chosen and that is fine, I get the process and the amount of pressure on the company to make the right choice with such a limited sample of time with each applicant. I thanked them for their time and said I'd love it if they kept me in mind for future roles. Well that came last week. The same recruiter reached out to me for a Senior Sys Admin role. I asked for the job req and the pay range to which he promptly supplied it and it did appear to be a good fit in the right range. I agreed to move forth and was set up with a call with the same hiring manager I had interviewed with over the summer. The conversation with the hiring manager was casual though I learned the IT manager they hired was already let go and they were looking to move on from the current onsite Sys Admin which would leave me as the only tech onsite. We discussed the job req briefly and the salary range briefly but all in all it was all confirmed as accurate. I was then offered the role and we discussed start dates. They were eager to fill this role quickly and I worked with the manager to accommodate. The hiring manager then said the recruiter would reach out to me to solidify the numbers and get the official offer pulled together. The recruiter called me within minutes and we began to discuss. He presented a very attractive amount of company equity and then we spoke salary. The salary was under the original range presented. He apologized and stated that he made a mistake because this is a new system. I told him I wouldn't be able to come on at that rate and after some back and forth he said he would go back to the hiring manager to see if we could improve that number. He said he would email it to me the next day(Friday) and asked me to take the weekend to think about it. Five minutes later he texted me to say he made another mistake in the system and the company equity offer was actually 60% lower than what we just discussed. The next day nothing came so I over the weekend the only thing I had to think of was a pay offer under the low end of the original pay range and equity 60% under the original offer. There were a few other things that I regarded as red flags as well but we'll stick with just the compensation here. Monday came and after most of the day with no contact from the recruiter I sent an email politely asking if there was an update to which I got no reply, the next day was a holiday so the no reply there was expected. Then today I finally got a reply. The reply stated that nothing in the offer had changed so so it is a yes or no. I again politely declined but this time I did not request they keep me in mind for future roles. The people I've met and talked to were nice, it seemed like it could've been a good fit but in the end there was a definite pattern of not respecting my time, a concerning level of disarray in the process and disappointing outcomes.
