      Associate Web Developer Interview

      Nov 22, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Angelsmith in Nov 2017

      Interview

I saw the posting online on Indeed.com. I wrote a brief but detailed response as requested by the posting and was emailed early the next morning by the owner acknowledging how superb it'd be to have some with my skill set and experience around the office. He then confirmed a few details with me about the position and invited me to chat with him. I booked 4 PM later that day. I dialed into his conference line at 3:58 PM and waited. 4:05 came and he had yet to come on. Finally 4:11 and he came on the line only to inform me he "didn't have a lot of time and needed to hurry." I was instantly put off by this but proceeded with the interview. He spent a good 8-9 minutes of our already now shortened interview telling me about the company's history and basically stroking his own ego by going over his work experience. He then gave me just a few minutes to go over my skills and experience while reminding me, again, that we only had a few minutes. I explained everything as well as one could given the time. I had almost finished and he had ANOTHER candidate dial into the line while I was finishing a statement and start talking to him. Afterwards, he advised he would need the person to start by early December to which I stated wouldn't be a problem. He acknowledged and said he would be in touch by the end of the week. The week rolled and nothing came; I waited until after lunch on Monday and sent a follow up which was ignored. I then sent another shorter email inquiring around the same time for a status which was also ignored. The next morning, I scheduled a time on the owner's calendar to speak with him as my emails had gone unanswered. Within a few minutes of scheduling it, he had deleted it and still refused to respond. From the other interview below, I can see the owner has a history of doing this. I would avoid AngelSmith at all costs. It seems the owner of the business has no respect for anyone. He lacks basic communication skills and clearly does not wish to help his team grow and develop.
