      Sales and Marketing Manager Interview

      Sep 11, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Aquatots (Atlanta, GA) in Sep 2019

      Interview

I applied for the sales and marketing position via LinkedIn and received an immediate response from the job poster. The poster scheduled a phone interview and we went from there. During the interview I can tell that this wasn't a place I would want to work for. The interviewer was way too casual and he asked me how much do I currently make. Most people who conduct interviews know this question (legally) should not be asked. The role sounded like 2 roles in one. They're looking for a demand generation manager and a marketing coordinator combined. When I proceeded to ask qualifying questions regarding the role "what are your expectations for this position in the first 60 days"? This role sounded very meaty so I was curious. The interviewer became very offended and accused me of asking questions that I found on Google (I always ask this question because it gives you a head start for success. I proceeded to ask him a question about the challenges they're facing and what ways they're looking to overcome these challenges once again accused me of googling this question. I ask this question often because I need to know what this role is inheriting. Lol The last straw for him was my question regarding mobility..he laughed and accused me again of googling this question. I ask this question because any company I want to work for I plan to grow with. My first and worse interview I've ever had in my life. I'm glad I dodged this bullet because throughout the interview he came across disinterested and way too casual. I am grateful for this experience because it reminded to stay sharp and watch for red flags of unprofessionalism.
