No follow up AT ALL to let me know that they were not interested. Professionally speaking, there is never an excuse for this type of behavior. It takes very little to send a courteous message informing that they were not interested. Moreover, given I was referred, I had asked for specific feedback as this helps me to learn from my interviews. My follow up inquiry was completely ignored.
