Main part of the recruitment process was to create the application in React while being observed by a developer and manager from the company. I did it way within the time limits and got the information that it was good but there is still some room for improvement as I used hooks for redux and they don’t know it (?)
Anyway, I passed the recruitment process and was offered the salary way below what is standard for my experience. For some reason I still thought the company is nice and I needed a new job so I agreed. They were dragging the process super long and some time has passed before I received the contract.
It was the most bizarre contract I have ever read, 18 pages long. It made the contractor financially responsible for everything, even things that were not related to the job. It was written eg that if they have to pay any fine or they lose the contract they can get repayment for all the damages in courts. Another one made you responsible for finding a substitute in case you are ill or on vacation for a week or more. In case you don’t find one or they wouldn’t accept this person you will have to pay for replacement. There were even financial fines for being impolite… And that’s not even half of that. I sent it to my friend who is a lawyer asking if I’m exaggerating. She said that even if I do everything right I could still go bankrupt over that.

Anyway, I asked them to change some of the clauses. They initially agreed so I thought we will reach an agreement. A week later they said they are not going to change anything and that they don’t want to sign the contract with me anymore.

Interview
It started with a 30 minutes skype interview where I was asked simple questions on what technologies I've been working with. I was then given a trial project to complete. It took about two days. Then there was an hour-long Skype call where I was asked to explain the workings of the trial project. Overall, the process was quite easy and pressure free.
