Low Pressure Turbine Casing Hardware Owner Interview

      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Avio Aero (Brindisi) in Feb 2026

      Interview

Two different online interviews: 1) HR motivational interview. Focus on details of the role, location, salary and why I was interested in the role and the company. 2) Technical interview with hiring manager and lead engineer one week later. First they gave me a detailed overview of the role, department and mission. The hiring manager set the mood in a very relaxed way (very appreciated). Second part was about technical questions and scenarios like "let's talk about how would you solve this problem if you were hired in this role", (questions mainly asked by the lead engineer). Main goal was to assess how my problem solving, academic knowledge and working experience could be useful in their department. Even though it was tough to stay cool under pressure and to answer in the best way possible, they helped me during the process and gave me time to think about an answer. Final part of the technical interview: we talked more freely about the challenges of the role and they even took more time after the meeting deadline to answer my questions and curiosities, which I really appreciated (1h & 20 minutes versus the expected 45 minutes). Most importantly I found them both very competent and welcoming in this conversation, hinting at a healthy company culture. The hiring manager made extra voluntary steps to explain to me how could I contribute to the company even by explaining in detail possible growth paths (managerial or technical). It was something I've never found before in an interview that left me very surprised. Highly recommend the company and especially this team, not only for the technical competence they showed but also on a human level. In conclusion it was a tough but very pleasant experience. Even though they selected someone with more experience than me, I was provided a detailed and open feedback after calling the HR coordinator responsible for the position a couple of weeks after the technical interview.
