I was referred to the owners by a mutual friend who was also a customer of theirs. I was told they needed office help; someone to answer phones and take orders, greet customers, etc. I scheduled an employment interview with Mrs.X after a brief telephone re-introduction and conversation about the job. When I arrived Mrs. X was not there. Mr.X met with me although he was ill prepared. He didn't know what Mrs.X had discussed with me. He filled the time by giving me a tour of the facilities. He had no choice but to go ahead with conducting an interview. He described their need and a job position that was very different. He was looking to hire an Outside Sales Rep who would function independantly and aquire new business. When Mrs.X finally arrived she was obviously rattled, distracted, and overwhelmed. We talked. She interviewed me and concluded the interview with an invitation to join the company. She called her husband to join us to discuss a salary offer. He was hesitant. He asked if they could talk it over and get back to me later that day. This concluded the interview. I did not hear from them. I contacted them and reitterated my interest in the job and arranged to take some pre-employment tests and submit them via email. I did not receive a response from them.
