Applied and got a response from a very friendly recruiter a day later. Had a phone interview with the designer that week which seemed to go well. Was invited for an in person interview the following week and that is when the wheels fell off. Was supposed to meet with 3 people at a designated time that was given out 3 days in advanced. Ended up only meeting with two: The luggage designer as well as the director of product design. The luggage designer was friendly and we were able to have a good discussion on design processes and what they were looking for. Next was the director, who promptly said that she didnt have much time and seemed hurried in the task at hand. After about 10 minutes of talking it was over and she left, while the product designer came back in and said that the 3rd person i was supposed to meet (the 1st person on the list) was in a meeting and would not be able to attend and that the interview was done. I understand that Away is still a bit of a new company, but I expected more professionalism as there was a set aside time. It seems like a wonderful company to work for, but the in person interview was messy and left a bit to be desired. However, both ladies I met with seemed to have a lot of enthusiasm and talent, so i wish i had gotten to meet the 3rd as well.
