      I interviewed at BYTE/DEPT

      Interview

Shockingly rude. One of the interviewers was lovely, the other - Head of Design - barely looked up from (I'm assuming his phone) and couldn't wait to get off the call. He very bluntly said he'd seen enough and didn't have any questions. The other interviewer asked if I did, so I begun to ask my first question and was cut off and told that they had run out of time. The interview was scheduled for 45 minutes and we were 20 minutes in. It was the second stage, to which I had done a task set and had spent the last 15 minutes presenting and he did not listen to a word - he finished the call with 'well the next stage is a task so we'll be in touch', to which his team member whispered 'she's just presented the task'... it was extremely awkward and uncomfortable. I understand that you may feel someone is not right for the role, but offer some respect to their time and effort. The first stage was with HR and was lovely. Unfortunately, it speaks volumes that this person is running their creative department.
