I applied through LinkedIn, got an email a week later and booked an initial phone call for the next day.
The call only lasted 1 minute. The first question I was asked was my previous salary and expectations. As soon as I said the numbers I was interrupted and told "Let me stop you there, as the salary for this role is not that high"
First of all, if the first question you get during the interview is about your salary expectations and your previous salary, this tells you enough about the company culture and you can just tell how they run it.
The role was for a Senior Graphic Designer including managing 2 designers and their salary for this job is £39k! £39k! I wonder how much their Junior Designer is making - minimum wage?
Companies need to start paying their "talents" and stop taking advantage of people. Thank god, I found out soon than later.
