For a job that pays very little, below the rate of similar jobs in similar nonprofits, the interview process was ridiculous. I interviewed with the recruiter and had a long conversation about my experience. I was passed on to the next round where then the recruiter warned me ahead of time about members of the team that were “difficult.” I was then expected to complete a performance task, where I had to include a lot of personal work from my portfolio. It was basically free labor. I created curriculum according to their directions with texts and prompts and units. I felt used since I was not contacted about my status or given feedback about my work that took hours to complete. No interview experience is exactly enjoyable but this one was terrible.
