I was taken into a very nice conference room with the supervisor of spiritual care and an HR employee. The feeling of the interview was warm and welcoming, not judgemental and very optimistic. Both Big Bend employees were laid back and didn't seem to be probing me for specific answers, they seemed genuinely interested in my own perspective and story as opposed to fishing for some perfect answer they could check off of a list.
They asked me to tell them about my journey as a minister and a chaplain. They asked me why I would want to work in hospice and at Big Bend. I believe they asked me what sort of issues working with dying people might bring up in my personal life... basic things that a minister would expect in this sort of interview. There were also questions about working in an interfaith setting and being open to serving all faiths. Being interviewed with Big Bend was a pleasant experience.
