I was approached by the company's HR representative and passed a few technical interviews, up until that point all was going well and the company seemed like a potentially good opportunity.
At the end of the process, I had a conversation with an HR manager regarding the contract draft, the salary they wrote down was lower than what we initially discussed.
When I brought up the salary subject I could feel how the attitude towards me changed and became hostile.
I received comments such as:
"With your experience, this is what you deserve" and
"According to our calculation, you do not deserve more"
I tried to filter it and just get to a mutual agreement.
The HR manager did agree to meet in the middle and improved the offer by a little bit.
Eventually, a contract was sent by email.
Although this whole episode raised some red flags, I had just enough time to write a leaving notice and send it to my employer.
The next day, during lunch, I received a call from HR stating they decided to void the contract and pull the offer.
