I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Blacklane in Oct 2017
Interview
Applied online. I got an email with a positive response asking for an interview to be conducted via Skype. I was ready for the interview, showed up online 15 minutes prior to scheduled time. The company had a problem configuring Skype, the interview was delayed by almost an hour and ended up using alternative software for communication. There were two interviewers, a HR rep and the Manager of BI Dept., who have admitted that they both work more or less about a few months there. The interview started with HR rep sharing her resume, then the hiring manager took his turn and lastly, it was my turn. During the interview, they failed to explain to me the career ladder progress and when I mentioned I was interested in becoming a DBA in a distant future, it was a red flag for the interviewing manager. On one hand, I should have avoided mentioning about it since it is not directly related to the department I applied to in this company. On the other hand, that sort of reaction gave me an impression that even if I were hired, I would be walking on eggshells at the future workplace. I sense that there's a gap between management and the employees.
