      Interview

I had a similar experience to the other person who commented. This was years ago, but I still think of it as violating. I was asked to take a personality test before any sort of interview. In the first phone interview, the interviewer asked me, "Your personality test indicates that you don't pay attention to detail. Is that a problem for you?" As in, I was asked to defend myself against the results of a personality test right off the bat. When I made it to the next round, the first interview, the person who would be my boss showed up to the coffee shop where she wanted to meet in sweatpants and Adidas sandals, and she looked like Peppermint Patty. She said, "Can you commit to this job for 5 years? We're looking for the next person who takes this job to be in it for at least 5 years." I was 23; what 23-year-old can say, "Yes, I'll commit to this for five years"? If they had retention problems, it's clear why.
