I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Skillman, NJ) in Aug 2016
Interview
Applied online. Coordinator scheduled time and recruiter reached out for a phone screening. Very professional and efficient. Prompt follow-up to schedule next phone interview.
First the hiring manager. Approximately one hour. Very efficient and professional. Walked through resume, experience, current initiatives. More questions about me than sharing information about the position. Again, coordinator was prompt to schedule the next phone interview. Next were two other team members. Less experienced in interviewing, so naturally less efficient, but nonetheless courteous and professional. No follow-up from the coordinator or response to my follow-up. A thanks but no thanks would have been appreciated, to close the loop and move on.
All interviewers were pleasant and seemingly happy in working for the company. Questions were well-balanced between qualifications and expectations. This suggests that the teams are careful in bringing in top talent and in protecting their culture.
Had a great recruiter round with plenty of useful details shared. The recruiter was helpful and informative throughout. Hope this helps others preparing for similar interviews and recruiter conversations ahead.
Had an initial screening call, then an interview with the hiring manager, then an interview with a product manager who quizzed based on SME knowledge of accounting charts. Then another interview with a business head.
