      Customer Service Representative Interview

      Aug 20, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England) in Aug 2017

      Interview

Fast process. Submitted online. Was invited to a phone interview about one week later. Quesions are enlisted on this site: who are our customers, what are our products, how a typical work day in this position looks like in your opinion, why Bloomberg, who are our competitors, why are you interested in a customer service position, good vs excellent customer service, etc. To prepare - check the questions on this site and read more about the company. The same day received an invitation to the second interview with Team Leaders at the company. The interview was arranged two days later. First, 30 minutes shadowing of an employee who works with the language you are applying for. Then, 1 hour interview with Team Leaders. Questions: if there is a conflict in the team - how would you resolve it; you shadowed our employee (basically, the job consists of a routine fast answering phone calls (sometimes 10-13 calls an hour)) - so what do you find attractive in this job; answering a lot of phone calls fast is also stressful - how will you cope with stress after / during such a work day; who are our customers, what is your experience with customer service, describe yourself, why Bloomb, etc. After the interview, there was a test for about 15 minutes: somebody calls you - and you are to provide required information fast, using Internet. It will be quite easy, if previous employment was answering phone calls. They give you a PC to search info with a timer on the screen. So, in this case, the first call was someone speaking English, who asked to search flights from Paris to London (clarify number of people, dates, children, then if necessary - one way/return, children discounts, morning/evening, stops, etc). Second call was in the foreign language you are applying with - in this case, the question was: ''Search for the Lion King tickets availability in London'', when you reply fast, next question - ''What are the closest underground stations to the theatre''. When the second interview was arranged, it was mentioned that after the first interview with Team Leaders in the office, there might be a second interview with other Team Leaders the same day. Since my interview ended right after the phone answering test, I considered it was a failure. Indeed, the rejection arrived next day.

      Application

I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY)

      Interview

There was a quiz, a video interview, and then a behavioral and role-playing interview. The most difficult portion was the role-playing interview as I found some of the questions to be too vague about what they were actually asking.
