      Excel VBA Specialist Interview

      Jun 8, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Bloomberg in May 2020

      Interview

Quite possibly the most unprofessional interview I've ever had. I'd like to think this isn't reflective of the entire company since I've heard great things about Bloomberg, but moreso with the recruiter I was matched with. Applied online via their website. I get a response within a few days and scheduled to speak with a recruiter. Recruiter never calls on our agreed time and doesn't take any further action until I follow up later. He doesn't sound apologetic one bit and completely ignores my new suggested times. We finally get to the interview 2 weeks later. Interview itself was probably the only decent part. The interviewer sounded like a nice guy, but it was obvious he was trying to end the call as quick as possible. After discussing more in-depth my background and the role itself, interviewer made it very clear this would be a great fit for both parties and he'd be excited to move the process forward. He says "expect to hear back from me no later than x date" X date was 3 weeks ago, and despite a couple more follow up emails from me, he has ghosted me and I have not heard from him since. A simple "we have decided not to move forward anymore" or "there have been further delays, please wait longer" would have sufficed. What's even more amusing is I'm finishing up interviews with other firms which started nearly a month later than when I started with Bloomberg. I'm pleased to move with a different offer elsewhere, but quite the shame cause working at Bloomberg still seemed like a fascinating opportunity. *shrugs End rant.
