The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Bloomberg in Jul 2010

      Interview

Job spec was vague as regards to reponsibilities. The first interview was a half hour phone interview, followed up with a face to face panel interview with one guy in the same room and the other on teleconference. The first interview was a general chat discussing my background with someone senior in client service, and we also discussed long term strategic development of the product. This went very well and I was immediately asked in for the second interview. The panel interview was with two people who were supposedly doing the same job they were hiring for although their exact positions and roles weren't explained, and the guy in the room with me told me that actually he was in a different team. The communication in the interview was generally poor and when I sought to clarify some terminology and ask for examples to illustrate something I didn't understand, the responses were inconcise and difficult to understand. They told me there and then that i wouldn't be able to hit the ground running and thats where their questions ended. Incidently they had been looking for seven months to fill the role and with an increasing workload the need to hire was now urgent, but rather than widen the net they were now looking for clones of the people they already have. Good luck with that. The two interviews could almost have been for two different roles and i had the feeling that everyone was not on the same page in terms of what they were looking for. Most importantly the impression that I had of team was that it was chaotic and stressed and they even let slip that their current team was under so much pressure they would not be able to support the new joiner.
