I was looking for sales associate positions at clothing stores in SoHo. After dropping off my resume at Blue and Cream and being told to come back when the owner was in, I came into the store to meet with him that weekend. I was told he was not there, and the manager spoke with me and suggested that I come back another time. As I walked out, I overheard the owner introduce himself to someone shopping in the store as the owner. I came back again later that week when I saw he was inside but he was busy. The manager spoke with me again and asked me a few questions about retail experience. It was friendly and easy but I never heard back from them or got a job offer. I ended up getting a job offer down the street at another high fashion store, so it all turned out okay for me personally but it bothered me that I did not get a real chance to talk to the owner himself.
