Boncom interview questions

So I am a little worried about this process they doing with me. I was contacted via zoom . By a gentleman named Theodore Anderson. firsts told he told me they were going to send me a check, to buy office setup ,when I told him I was not going to do that ,he's saying that they will do a background check okay background check comes and they want information from me like my W2 form , picture of my ID , and the name of my parents , scam? Or what wish I can get in contact with anyone from company, to verify if this is legit.

I interviewed with the HR manager, then she sent my information to mentors for the Internship which I interviewed with for 30 minutes. The hearing back process was super slow
