A member of their recruitment team reached out to me as they said my profile caught their attention and invited me for an initial phone conversation with another member of their team.
Lovely lady and great interview, answered all of my questions and took in what I was saying.
She mentioned I will hear back on Monday about the next step in the interview process.
However I did not hear anything from anyone on the Monday, I reached out to them via email to no response and also reached out to the original person who got in touch, however I didn’t receive a response until Tuesday, to which they mentioned I did really well in the interview ( didn’t mention anything negative) but they believed I should go into sales instead.
I asked why was this the case seeing as the interview was fine and they were the ones who reached out but never got a response back from them.
I believe the role never existed in the first place and this was just their way of getting people to join their sales team.
Advice to management: if you are reaching out to people please be honest and have clear communication skills, do not ignore them and be up front.
Having my time wasted and being lied to is no way to attract new employees. At least give people the benefit of the doubt and respond back to them instead of ignoring them.
