I enjoyed my experience interviewing at Braze and would highly recommend it.
My process started off with an initial phone interview with Ben, one of their lead recruiters. During this 30 minute call, I got an opportunity to learn about Braze's mission, products, technical challenges, and culture. Because I applied via an external agency, I moved forward to the onsite interview without doing a technical phone screen.
Prior to my trip, Jake (a recruiter at Braze) called me to ask if there's anything they needed to do to accommodate me during my stay in New York City, and offered to take me out for dinner with the team. It was very kind of them. Being based in San Francisco, I appreciated the care they took to ensure my trip to New York would be a smooth one.
The onsite interview process was pretty standard, consisting of four interviews total. Each round was about an hour long focused on coding, system design, work history / experience, and cultural fit respectively. During my coding interviews, I was allowed to write code on a laptop, and used the whiteboard to draw out examples and diagrams. Both my coding and system design interviewers were extremely sharp and easy to collaborate with.
Braze has an incredibly inclusive workplace culture, and I really felt welcomed during my visit. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience interviewing there, and I received an offer just a few days after my onsite. I highly recommend Braze.
