I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Braze (New York, NY) in Oct 2021
Interview
I spoke with the recruiter on the phone screen and she was great, it sounded like a great fit. I moved on to the next round with two other designers. They seemed super disengaged. I felt like one wasn't paying attention at all and was annoyed to be there. I didn't feel like it went well, so I didn't expect to move on. But I was surprised when Braze completely ghosted me. I can understand not getting back to someone after a phone screen but after an hour long interview is pretty crappy!

Difficult interview
Application
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Braze (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2024
Interview
There were 3 parts:
Interview with Hiring manager
Presentation to panel of 5
Follow up 1-1 interviews with the entire panel
The process was fair. The feedback was nitpicky. They cared mostly about the format of the presentation and the fact that it went overtime than they did the content.

Question 1
How did you decide which users to interview in your research process?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Braze
Interview
- Phone Screen + Interview with Hiring Manger + Presentation and Panel (5 thirty minute interviews total) in one day over the course of 5 hours The process is long and arduous. Hiring process asks for too much time out of a candidate. While the response time is fine, it is entirely unacceptable to ask candidates to block out a whole day of 5 interviews. Met with a total of 7 people in one day, extremely exhausting with only 2 breaks throughout the day. Not worth such a taxing and time consuming process.
