      Marketing Copywriter Interview

      May 25, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Montreal, QC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Broadsign (Montreal, QC) in Mar 2018

      Interview

The first step was a telephone interview. Basic stuff, mostly, to help the team get a feel for my general background, approach to work, etc. Next was an in-person interview. The first half of this was a little more oriented to my direct marketing experience and familiarity with Broadsign and its products (do your research!). The second half involved a writing test. Note that this interview was quite long, coming in at just under two hours. Finally, there was an additional interview a few days later with the VP of marketing and then a little chat with the members of the marketing team at Broadsign. This stage felt pretty casual and largely went back over the same topics that had been covered prior, just with some new people. The company is very proud of its culture, so I think taking the time to get candidates to meet as much of the team as possible was an important step in the hiring process. A few days after this final interview, I received and accepted an offer. Overall, the interview process didn't feel particularly difficult, probably in part because I feel like I meshed well with the team early on. The interviews are a bit long, which made getting away from my prior position for multiple hours at a time a little tricky, but the team did its best to schedule everything as conveniently as possible for me, which was greatly appreciated. And it was worth it! I haven't been here long, but the experience has been very positive so far. I highly recommend applying.
