You have to talk about your background, and you have to pass a math test, to prove your skills. Other than that is a very simple process, you just need to show that you have a strong mathematical background, and you're able to help the students with their questions.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Broward College (Davie, FL) in Nov 2018
Interview
I had to do only one quick math test, easy to solve. I passed it and then got the job. At the beginning of the semester I had to go to orientation to learn the basics.
