Building Blocks Early Learning Center interview questions

The interview includes some standard questions, as well as spending time in a classroom to see how you interact with the children. The whole process seemed unprofessional to me from the beginning. The interviewer kept answering the phone during my interview, and dully reading the interview questions off the paper. It seemed like she was disinterested in the whole process. I then went into a classroom where the teachers did not acknowledge me, or even say hi. In fact, I felt like an intruder being there. The kids were super sweet, we read a book, and I helped them get ready for nap time. I tried making conversation with the teachers but they were unpleasant, seemed bored, and totally unenthusiastic about their jobs. I didn’t like the way they spoke to the children (pre-school class). They weren’t nice to them and I was unpleasantly surprised that they would even do it in front of me. After that, I knew I had no interest in ever returning there. There was lack of warmth present in a setting where it’s essential. I’m not sure how much the teacher’s make but I doubt it’s much. You can probably make more money working at Starbucks. I wouldn’t want to leave my child in hands of an unenthusiastic “teacher” who doesn’t want to be there and gets paid minimum. There has to be a change.
