Application
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at CHECK24 (Munich, Bavaria) in Aug 2017
Interview
first call with technical specialist, almost 1 hour, tones of basic questions about php and mysql
second step - to develop application and you given 5 hours
So somehow I finished my task but inertviewer wasn't satisfied with code quality
I was told that he expected something better. Proposed to me another department with lower salary (but it's wasn't 100% offer just he could help to provide my information).
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
what is triggers for mysql, what type of mysql indexes do you know
ask some questions about basic knowledge of PHP and have 5 hours coding - they say need a good quality don't worry if could be finish all task but they care about the finish them
After successfully navigating through all the interview hoops, I was on the cusp of celebration. The anticipation hung in the air like a charged particle, ready to burst into elation. But then, the unexpected twist: they dropped the bombshell. The relocation I had been banking on, the prospect of a fresh start in a new city, evaporated like morning dew under the sun. The reason? My lack of a degree.
It was a paradoxical moment. Here I was, armed with skills, experience, and a proven track record, yet held back by a piece of paper—a mere parchment that supposedly validated my worth. The irony stung. The interviewers, with their clipboards and stern expressions, had reduced me to a checkbox: “Degree: Yes/No.” The weight of that single word—**“No”—**felt heavier than the entire stack of textbooks I’d devoured during my self-taught journey.
