      Senior Accountant Interview

      Dec 8, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Norwich, England
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Cadeler (Norwich, England) in Dec 2025

      Interview

A 45 min initial interview was straightforward (although I had to use annual leave as it had to be in work hours). In advance of a second interview they requested I do two tests and a presentation to be submitted to them which would be followed by a 1.5hr interview. In addition they wanted to contact my references prior to sending a job offer. Frankly this is ridiculous and certainly unusual in my experience. They still had not confirmed compensation after the first interview. I emailed to ask and it was around £6k less than my current salary (which I had already told them) so I withdrew myself from the process. Totally untransparent of them not to mention this in advance when we discussed salary or on the advert before using my annual leave, Also with 20-25% of salary being made up of a discretionary bonus you run a risk of getting alot less than you bargain for.

      Question 1

How would you speed up month end close? Address gaps in audit, how would you manage a remediation plan ensuring SOX compliance? How approach unreconciled accounts?
