      I interviewed at CalSERVES

      Interview

The interview was straightforward, it was a 30-minute phone call in which one of the recruiters explained the position, what was expected, and getting to know me more. While the interview itself was simple, there were several things that didn't sit well with me. The first thing is I was told about this position less than a month than the expected start date, which would give me less than a month to move to California in the middle of a pandemic. The interview took place a day after I submitted the interview and whoever had interviewed made the interview seem more like an interrogation. There were long pauses after each answer which made me think they were either not listening or they were writing down all of my answers, but after each answer, there was a long pause which made the whole ordeal even more awkward. Followed by generic enthusiasm. As another person here mentioned, they don't seem to care about qualifications, as it seemed despite my qualifications they were looking for in the position, because it wasn't the exact answer they were looking for, they seemed disappointed and lost interest. It didn't seem like they even bothered to look at my resume at all even. On top of that, they are going out of the office until after New Years', to which I -should- receive more information about the position before the 19th. I've yet to hear back, so I'm sure I won't hear an answer until after the holiday season which again, gives me even less time to have to prepare to move if accepted the position. The whole process seemed disorganized and rushed. It seems like they are in a hurry to fill the position. I felt like it was a complete waste of time and would recommend seeking a position elsewhere or at least make sure you don't have less than a month to make a life-altering decision.
