This is was an entry-level position that I applied for online before I graduated. Phone screening in mid April, and then a series of in-person interviews at their facility around two weeks later. Met with medical physicists and other members of staff including the individual leaving the company whose job I was interviewing for. Everyone was nice and pleasant and the interviews weren't especially taxing (entire visit was around 2 hours). I was told I would receive a decision in about 2-3 weeks.
A month later I receive an email from the company apologizing for the delay, but telling me that their decision would be made in another couple of weeks. I thanked them, waited another couple weeks, and then received another email once again apologizing for the delay, but also asking if I was still interested in the position. I responded affirmatively, and waited some more. Another month went by with no results, so I decided to send an email indicating my continued interest, along with an updated version of my resume indicated that I had graduated, and some additional relevant job experience. No response ever since.
Pretty disappointed by how unprofessional the end of the process turned out. While I do value the interview experience I gained-- the trip to San Diego from Los Angeles cost time and money, and I think a formal rejection was the least they could've done. Given the opportunity to do all this again, but armed with the knowledge of the disrespect CA Protons hiring managers/HR shows their candidates, I would not take it.
