After sending cv I got a short call with someone from HR who explains what Camunda does and how the hiring procedure works.
After this I got a coding assignment to create a application in Python or Go to run in K8s. You get documentation and a zip file which contains scripts etc that setup a k8s cluster with kind, builds images and tests your code for functionality. Pretty neat.
My code was apparently good enough for the next round, which is an online hack session with an engineer from Camunda. I needed to code a small game in 45min. I thought the only language options to choose from were Python and Go like the first challenge. So I choose Python.. which I'm not too fluent in (yet) So I didn't make it in time and struggled.
And the engineer said it wasn't good enough and wouldn't get an offer (in a friendly and polite way)
The way they focus on coding and esp looking at the time required for the challenges they look for developers with a focus on infrastructure/k8s. Too much focus on developing to call it an SRE position in my opinion.
