      Industrial Engineer Interview

      Aug 11, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      North Brunswick, NJ
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Capacity (North Brunswick, NJ) in Aug 2025

      Interview

      1. HR Phone Interview – Covered basic skills and desired salary. 2. Virtual Interview with Manager – Discussed past work experience in detail. 3. On-Site Panel Interview – Controller of Operations: Very friendly, mainly focused on soft skills. Industrial Engineer & Director of Engineering: Focused heavily on technical skills. Vice President of Engineering: Asked about work experience, then explored my thinking process. Overall Experience: The entire on-site process took about 2 hours and felt quite tiring due to many repetitive questions. I repeated my work experience around five times across different interviewers. While each interviewer had their own focus area, most questions were very answer-oriented — when I responded differently than expected, there were no follow-up questions. Although I applied for a junior position and was told the role would not emphasize hard skills or require certification, many questions centered on certificate-related topics and specific, rigid answers.

      Interview

HR screening call - Nice guy, good interview. Basic skills check. Next day got a call from HR for scheduling next meet with Hiring manager. Hiring Manager - Great interview. Discussed the experiences, some situation based questions. Heavily technical! Another call from HR saying we dont want to fly you in just yet (to NJ ). Before that we want you to meet our VP of data analytics and science. VP Interview: This guy was uninterested since start of the interview. Felt like he just wanted to wrap up the interview as if he already had someone in mind for this role. Answered every question in detail. Very much sure I answered every question to the point. Next day got a call from HR saying unfortunately we wont be moving forward with you. No feedback. Never interviewing here again. Even though I applied for a Jr. Industrial Engineer position, all questions were very much technical. All the meet invites had the mentioned position as Industrial Engineer. I wanted to be interviewed for Jr. IE position. That was my interest !
