      React Frontend Software Engineer Interview

      Jan 14, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Capital.Com (London, England) in Jan 2025

      Interview

It appears that in order to streamline applicant numbers, the hiring team at Capital.com has chosen to take a shortcut on person-to-person/cultural/situational interviews and use this horrible online assessment platform called Testing Gorilla to test for critical thinking, logic and attention to detail in candidates This test was a colossal waste of time with many badly and weirdly phrased questions that were timed, please see the examples posted below of just some of the terrible questions shown. The test featured nothing explicitly related to the skills (javascript, react, html, css, etc..) required to do the job title advertised. Afterwards Test Gorilla pushes you to sign up to their platform just to see your results but also create you a profile to market to other employers. Ultimately, this testing ended any sort of interest bringing my skills as a developer to this company and I swiftly withdrew my application.

Statement A: A 37-year-old admires people who are responsible, trustworthy, kind, gentle, humble, wise, and hardworking. They hope that their children will have excellent life partners in the future. How many differences are there between these 2 sentences?

      Question 2

Max was a wise ruler. They wanted to know if the neighboring kingdom's king was indeed humble. They asked him if he knew the'answers to all of their questions. The king responded that one of the things he was sure of was that he did not know everything. Is the above description consistent?

      Question 3

A little prankster took their friend's pet chicken and put it on top of the barn shed. They tied a rope to the bird's leg so that it could not'escape. However, they were worried that any egg laid might fall off, as the barn had slanting roofs on either side. To their relief, not a single egg fell off the top of the barn before their parents discovered their mischief. Is the above description consistent?
