      Recruiter Interview

      Apr 27, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Lynnwood, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at CareerPaths NW (Lynnwood, WA) in Mar 2018

      Interview

They called me off of my posted resume on a job search site and hard-core "sold" me the job while pretending that they weren't. They acted as if they rarely have open spots, but I talked to some other people I know who said they have a terrible time hiring and that they will test you by making you come to the office (which is a pretty sad one) at least four times, for nothing, really- things that could be handled over the phone and email. The owners will do the typical sales pitch: set up their credibility, compliment you, act like they are just "being real" with you when it's a completely transparent manipulation that isn't even a sophisticated sales technique- it would only work on the most gullible or someone so seasoned, they can manipulate them right back. They have to work so hard at it because their structure sucks: full commission, on a draw that barely is minimum wage at most, or even below, and no benefits or savings plan, just the assurance that if you do exactly what they say, you will make lots of money... eventually. I wanted to get into full-cycle recruiting, but there are so many jobs out there right now with established companies, with base pay, benefits, and actual training programs, I did not see any reason to lower myself to this type of role and didn't move forward after the first in-person. They gave off a real snake-oil salesman vibe I didn't want to associate myself with.

      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CareerPaths NW in Jan 2018

      Interview

They ask about your background and your successes. They really treat it like they want a reason to hire you not like they are looking for reasons not to hire you. Then they put the ball in your court and say if you really want to move forward reach back out.
