Castle Press interview questions

Contacted by email to arrange an interview appointment with receptionist for the following week. I prepared my printed graphic design samples briefcase and just incase I made a copy of my on-line portfolio on CD. Company offices are located in older part of Pasadena. Early 60's office decor...battleship gray formica panel cubicles with glass uppers...all visible from the entry and not a desktop computer in sight. Interviewer (probably the art department manager) asked few questions. Mostly wanted to see my graphic design samples. I preferred to present my digital portfolio off the CD at minimum, or access it via the web but the company and interviewer had no on-line or computer resources in the interview room to allow me to make my portfolio presentation. Fortunately I had my printed samples portfolio briefcase with me, but my most current work was in my on-line portfolio and I felt disadvantaged. I noticed myself talking a few times about work that was only in my on-line portfolio. This is not a good interview situation since regardless of the reasons it makes you look ill-prepared. In the future you need to come to the interview armed for bear and not rely on your interviewer to have the presentation equipment you need for your presentation.
