I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Cedar in Jan 2025
Interview
Recruter reached me in LinkedIn.
I had Zoom call with recruter which left very positive impression.
Coding interview was pretty standard coding question.
I can't explain why, but I feel that interviewer don't like me and I understood that I am not going to pass very early after 10 min of coding.
Despite I was able to find solution and pass test I got rejection mail next day.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Define some success criteria and calculate them. Provided some input data which needs to be processed.
Had 3 calls in total with them. 1) recruiter call, 2) technical screen with an engineer and 3) hiring manager call.
1) recruiter call was basic
2) technical screen was with an engineer on coderpad solving a problem.
3) hiring manager interview was talking about my experience and then I had to talk about a subject I'm passionate about. The hiring manager asked me a lot of probing questions to see how in depth of knowledge I have on the subject.

Question 1
You are a healthcare billing company. You have 3 datasets. 1 for bills for patients, 1 for patient payments, and 1 for modes of notification (3 modes: email, text, and phone call) to patients that they owe money. How would you write a python function to determine which form of notification is the best performing
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Cedar (Lehi, UT) in Sep 2022
Interview
They reached out 40 min before interview to reschedule. They said they can reschedule for the next day or early the following week and I responded the next day would work great. They didn’t respond until the following week after apologizing. They said they could do Monday between 10am-12am and I said that sounds great. Never got a response until Tuesday apologizing again.
Finally had the interview, and they said I didn’t appear to be a senior. I explained to them I was a senior engineer and explained why I was and they responded “I don’t know coding much, and I know you can be a senior with less years of experience but you don’t seem to have enough experience”.
Interviewer clearly didn’t know much about levels or ability of a software engineer and just went off years of experience which is not always a good gauge of ability or talent.
Really poor interview experience and didn’t ask any technical questions to get any sort of grasp on my skill level and went based of years of experience. I have been a senior developer for over almost two years and have led out large projects for companies.
