Got a phone call from the owner of the company, whom described the position they currently have opened, the skills he is looking for, and the type of projects I'd be working on. He mentioned their would be training, however, he didn't mention whether its paid or not. Next, I forwarded my resume to him. I didn't get a response back for more than 3 days. I called him back and he said he located my resume and will review it ASAP. A few more days later (2nd week), he mentions a new piece of information that he didn't mention in the beginning, which I'd be tested before a face-2-face interview would be setup. However, he never emailed me the Testing link. I emailed him, he says the test aren't on a server to which you can load off of a website (like most companies typically have, they include an online assessment). He says they are written in a word document (?? I am confused) he instructs me to download programs online very vaguely. With no details as to what programs in general, moreover, I never received the "test". I tried calling him back but he avoids phone calls at this time. Now I am confused, a software company as they describe themselves doesn't have a test on a website to which they can guide their applicants to visit like most staffing companies provide or even regular companies such as AMC Theaters, SAIC, etc. Instead they write up a test in a word document, sounds fishy to me. After 3 weeks through phone calls and few emails back and forth daily, I felt like they were giving me the run around.
