I was repeatedly asked a question that hinged on my basic skills, which I thought strange, but I was well-prepared with work samples, professional references, etc. My response was multi-layered but truthful, which allayed their concerns. (My inward response was: "Of course I know how to do that!") I later learned someone had incorrectly but not maliciously reported something to the HR Director. I was pleased that they did not immediately write me off and that they asked about it.
