      Recruitment Consultant Interview

      Mar 22, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Chapman Black (London, England) in Jan 2016

      Interview

Had a telephone interview then went in and met several people who just didn't really seem to care about me. One man chatted about sport and didn't ask me a single relevant question. Then they asked me to come back the next week saying they really liked me and then the same thing happened again. The interviews were not in a private room, they were in front of everyone at their little communal area. The work force were all very working class, walking around with shoes off and throwing balls at each other. The offices are so grotty and run down, is like a 1970s school. Google pictures of the offices and you will see what I mean.

Thanks for the feedback, we have an open office and most meetings take place in an open forum, if you are successful and invited back for the second round we spend more time with the leadership team in private offices. If someone wants to take their shoes off to feel more comfortable then this is fair enough, we are proud of our office, it is a fun dynamic environment, it may not be to everyones taste, we are not trying to be a global corporate, we are a young entrepreneurial environment. I wish you all the best with your job search. Kind Regards Richard Blackburn Co-Founder

      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Chapman Black (London, England) in Dec 2018

      Interview

One telephone interview, followed by a face to face with a senior consultant and a higher level manager. Then after another interview involving phoning clients. The overall process was handled pretty professionally. There were times when it could have been better if communication was kept up.

      Application

The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Chapman Black in Nov 2018

      Interview

Fast process. They called me in three times for three interviews. Was done rather fast. However didn’t get the role due to lack of experience. Was interviewed by three people. Two of which were very nice but one was rather harsh. Seems like a very nice environment to work in.

      Recruitment Consultant Interview

      Jun 7, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chapman Black (London, England) in Jun 2018

      Interview

I met with 3 different sale consultants in my first interview, they asked lots of personal questions to get to know me, they quizzed me about my sales ability. I found everyone in the company very hospitable . The 2nd interview - I met with 3 sales managers who grilled me on my past sales experience with some recruitment role plays. I must admit I was caught off guard and struggled to sell my watch! The final - I came in for a 2 hour trial where I sat on the phone calling candidates on the database and met with the MD. The internal recruiter kept me up to date through the whole process and was the interview process was well organised and transparent. From receiving the verbal offer, the contract took 24 hours to arrive via email I did think the background check was a bit serious for a job in recruitment
