I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Cie (Irvine, CA) in Nov 2016
Interview
The process was very quick and transparent. I had a phone interview with HR and was asked to come in a few days after that to meet in-person. They were responsive to my emails.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Cie (Irvine, CA)
Interview
Cie Digital reached out to me twice before I agreed to interview with them. Standard interview procedure.
30 mins - HR call
3 Hours - Onsite interview. ( Broken down into 30 mins blocks of 1:1s with various members if the team. Engineering, Product, Design, Directors
They dig into your experience, projects and your knowledge in technical skills. From the conversations I had it didn't seem like they were a innovative tech company. If you are trying to get more experience and working on cool projects, this might not be the place. However, if you are looking to gain experience in a fast paced environment with not really a solid methodldgy in place then this is it for you.
Overall, the interview experience was pretty standard. The vibe in the office is pretty low key. The more questions I asked, evident it was that there isn't a streamlined process, a lot of internal politics and things changing every single day. So glad it didn't work out both ways.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
About your work experience
How do you thrive in a fast paced environment, give examples?
Have you ever disagreed with a team member, how did you handle the situation?
Have you ever had to convince your stakeholders of the idea they proposed was bad, give examples?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cie in Jan 2018
Interview
Applied online, and a week later I was contacted by someone in HR to schedule a phone screen with one of staff designers. The call with the staff designer was 30 min, I was asked the typical questions about background, experience, and situational things. Overall it felt awkward because he didn't seem interested based on the lack of engagement, and not really explaining what the company does.
