I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cisco (Santa Clara, CA) in Feb 2012
Interview
The interviewer first asked a bit about my experience and then proceeded to ask a fairly simple logic puzzle. After I solved the logic puzzle, the interviewed changed it and made it a bit more difficult. After the logic puzzle, the interviewer asked me how to implement a hash map which I was very unsure about. He provided me hints and an explanation of the implementation process which helped greatly. The interview process lasted about 45 minutes.
the first round was a recruiter call; the second round was a hiring manager interview; the third round was 3 back to back interviews; it's one of my best interview experience
I only interviewed for my first Cisco Internship, and it was just one coding question in an IDE and language of my choice. Back then I only knew java, so I opened up eclipse and coded out what I could. I wasn't able to answer the question, but talking through my thought process definitely helped.
