Unprofessional Interview Experience
I had a disappointing experience interviewing for a Machine Learning Engineer position at Cisco. The hiring manager joined the call, asked just one generic question, showed very little interest, and wrapped up the conversation in under 10 minutes. It felt more like a formality or a timepass than a genuine interview.
What was more frustrating is that after two days, instead of receiving a proper email, HR called to inform me that I was rejected. No feedback was provided, and the tone came off as dismissive and rushed, almost as if they were doing me a favor by calling.
For a company that promotes innovation and inclusion, I expected a more respectful and structured process. Interviews should be a two-way street — giving candidates a fair chance to demonstrate their potential and receive transparent communication. Unfortunately, that was not the case here.
