Made an interview appointment even though a current employee told me this place was crap. I figured I would at least take the interview and see how this place functions for myself. It's difficult to imagine city jobs with benefits and decent pay to be as bad as he made it seem. Filled out the app online for as well as required questions. I received a follow up email with the testing dates. I called in and made my appointment. The 1st thing that happened was a 3 person panel interview with basic questions like tell me a time when.......and have you ever experienced a difficult situation amd whatbdod you do about it.m....etc. that was the easy mundane part. The part I wasnt expecting was the "functional " part. They take you into the shop. You are required to point to components of a city bus as they call them out. Why? I have no idea. The job description doesnt say anything about buses. So if you go in for this interview, practice knowing where the slack adjuster, transmission cooler, pitman arms, and know the working pressure of a brake system. Also the dryer tank location. After that you go into an electrical testing room and there is a circuit with a non functioning l.e.d. using an ohm meter you have to write down why it's not working. Oh and by the way you dont know what questions or components you got wrong ir right. So have fun! Lol
