The interview process was a series of 3 interviews over the course of about a month. I first interviewed with the VP of Sales, then the Sales Manager, and lastly the CEO. After that, I was told that the next step in the process would be a background check and drug screen before an offer could be made. The CEO himself told me to lookout for an email to give consent for the background check and to set up the drug screen; I never got that email!
Before I explain more about that I do have to say that the actual interviews themselves were rather engaging; they asked me the usual interview questions about my work history, experience, and some questions about myself, and I was able to ask them an ample amount of questions about the company, the job, and so forth.
Where things went south is with the follow-ups after my last interview. I tried to keep in contact with them and to get an answer about my status regardless of if I got the job or not. I just wanted to know either way. The last time that I had communication from anyone in the company was about a month or so ago. They didn’t even give me the courtesy of sending me an email to let me know a “yay” or “nay”.
I remember reading reviews about this company having a diversity problem, but I didn’t want to let that deter me. From what I was able to see of the sales department, I only saw and spoke to white males, and I am neither. I don’t want to think that this is why the company ghosted me with no response, but if they did actually hire anyone for this role, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were another white male.
