I recently went through the interview process for the Solar Performance Diagnostics Technician role at ClearSource, and I must say it was a frustrating and misleading experience. The process involved two interviews and two exams. The final stage was a panel interview with two supervisors and an SME, where I was asked technical questions about my background, solar knowledge, and my understanding of the industry.
Some of the questions included:
What are the components of a solar system?
What is your understanding of the solar industry?
Are there any factors (such as family or work setup) that might hinder your ability to work with us?
After passing the final interview, I was told by the recruitment representative that I was placed on "buffer status" because there were no more available slots for the role. They mentioned that I would only be considered if someone backed out, so while I technically passed, there was no job offer.
I waited for about three weeks, sending follow-up emails for updates, but received no response. Finally, I received a rejection email, which was confusing and frustrating, especially after I had been told that I passed the final interview.
This process felt unprofessional and misleading. I would not recommend applying for this role, as it turned out to be a waste of time, with no clarity or transparency from the company throughout the entire process.
