      Conference Producer Interview

      Nov 1, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Climate Action (London, England) in Sep 2023

      Interview

Absolutely terrible. After being chased by their internal HR team for a new months, I finally accepted to have a conversation with their CEO and the alarm bells started within the first 2 minutes of walking in. Arrogant, rude, and solely money-driven. The interview felt like most of an interrogation where he didn't actually care to hear my answers but preferred the sound of his our voice and 'cleaver questions'. He was sat back in his chair, texting on his phone, interrupted me constantly and even made a point to say that he always comes up with 'big ideas' and even if the rest of 'his' staff don't think it will work, then they have to make it happen as 'he's the boss'. Very very strange. Would stay well clear from this place and truly never wanted to work for a place less in my life.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Climate Action (London, England) in Aug 2023

      Interview

The application to interview process was very quick submitted a CV and the recruitment manager set up an interview within a week of submitting the CV. The interview itself was in person in their We Work office with the CEO and their Head of Events. The line of questioning was quite basic, describe your production process, how do you recruit speakers, etc. The CEO’s behaviour in the interview was the biggest red flag for me in the process, he was leaning back in his chair, texting, generally acting in a very rude, nonchalant manner. At one point he cut in across the other interviewer that their question wasn’t relevant and to pay more attention in quite an aggressive manner. What isn’t the most obvious is that the job roles are really sales / profit driven rather than impact driven and having said that’s not really my expertise, I was told I was ‘like an admin’ then. I have honestly never walked out of an interview wanting to work for a company less.
