Was out of work and looking for a position. The job post was labeled as a "Marketing" position. Called me two hours after I submitted the application to set up a face to face interview. The first interview is just to match a face to the resume which was a waste of time. The second interview I met with an account manager. Asked me about my hobbies and conversation led to our love of sports. Mentioned the atmosphere in the office is competitive like sports, so I would fit in if I had that mentality. Then the convo shifted to the CEO and how much money he was making, the car he just bought and the overall cost of the business. That means nothing to me as a business professional on an interview and immediately drew red flag. The CEO came in and started asking generic questions and when I was ready to start. I asked him about day-to-day operations which got sketchy. He mentioned how they do two hours of training/meetings with clients, sell for a few hours and come back to the office to reconvene. It was a long work day for knocking on doors in a full suit. Great job if you're young and hungry out of college but naive to the pyramid scheme they have going on. Show some professionalism during your interviews. The CEO even mentioned how much one of his managers is making a year. Just tell people it's direct sales knocking on doors instead of trying to be fancy.
